Salomons Raps 3 HR Against Polecats Thursday, June 2nd , 2078 Orlando Sword Swallowers center fielder Levi Salomons sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Mastic Beach Polecats, Salomons told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Salomons pushed the Sword Swallowers past the Polecats, 5-2. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Salomons told reporters after the game. Levi Salomons doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Sergio Vega in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Miguel Villa in the 10th and hit a three-run home run off Miguel Villa in the 12th. This season, Salomons is swinging the bat at a .291 pace. He has hit 9 home runs and scored 21 times, while driving in 24. His on-base percentage is .347 and he has played in 50 games. |
