Gilbert's Nakao to Miss Season
Saturday, May 18th , 2080
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Nakazo Nakao of the Bulldozers knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Fairbanks Goldpanners while throwing a pitch. Because of a torn labrum, the Gilbert starting pitcher is expected to miss 4 months. Nakao was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
On the season, Nakao has compiled a 2-0 mark with a 1.65 ERA in 7 starts. In pitching 32.2 innings he has 30 strikeouts and 21 walks while limiting the opposition to a .212 batting average.
