Zermeno Rips Trois-Rivieres for 5 Hits
Sunday, April 21st , 2080
After his 5-hit effort at Trois-Rivières Park was tarnished by Gilbert's 5-2 loss to the Trois-Rivieres Aquanauts, right fielder Jose Zermeno told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."
He didn't get the win, but the 20-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Aquanauts.
"His swing is getting there," said Bulldozers skipper after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jose did that to perfection and we wasted it."
Jose Zermeno singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This season, Zermeno is batting .393 with 2 home runs. He has scored 4 runs and driven in 3.
