3 Home Runs for Carleton Sunday, July 23rd , 2079 It was a good day for the Victoria Seals and an exceptional one for Justin Carleton. The 22-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Seals beat the Milwaukee Explorers, 12-1, at Victoria Park. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Carleton said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 8 runs and smacked 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Justin Carleton hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Victor Cortez in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Hiroshi Enomoto in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Estaçio Viola in the 8th. Posting a .251 batting average to date, Carleton has 16 home runs and 42 RBIs. |
