Hammers Tessier No-Hits Blues
Saturday, July 8th , 2079
The St. Louis Hammers were just hoping for a solid outing from Earl Tessier. Instead, they got something special.
The 20-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the New Orleans Blues, helping the Hammers take the 2-0 win.
"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Hammers. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."
Tessier's repertoire has a fastball, slider, and changeup, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the New Orleans hitters off balance all game long. The St. Louis hurler fanned 12 and walked 3 in his history-making performance.
"His fastball looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," New Orleans manager joked after the game.
Currently Tessier has a record of 7-8 with 166 strikeouts and 34 walks in 126.2 innings and a 1.99 ERA.
