Year Over for Blackbirds Bostian Sunday, June 18th , 2079 The doctors have spoken and Erik Bostian of the Shreveport Blackbirds didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Bostian sustained his season-ending injury during the Lake Dalecarlia Saxons game yesterday at Ballpark of Shreveport. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Shreveport medical staff reported Bostian had radial nerve compression and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months. In 5 starts this season, Bostian has registered a 0-1 record and a 2.11 ERA. |
