Greene Socks It to Hillsboro 3 Times Friday, June 16th , 2079 Trace Greene of the Hoxie Scots had a lot to celebrate in today's 12-1 win over the Hillsboro Ensigns after pounding a trio of home runs at Scots Ballpark. "I'm just closing my eyes and swinging as hard as I can," he joked with reporters after the game. "It worked well today." The powerful Hoxie second baseman tagged 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 8 runs and scored 3 times in his three-homer outburst. "We talked about changing our strategy for the third one, and then he went and hit another homer," Hillsboro manager said. "We just couldn't get him out." Trace Greene hit a two-run home run off Armando Angel in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Armando Angel in the 2nd, grounded out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Conrad Wit in the 6th. For the year, Greene is batting .249 with 12 home runs. |
