Barrios Fires Shutout in Grapplers Victory Thursday, June 1st , 2079 Jose Barrios kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Baton Rouge Grapplers were all smiles after winning, 1-0, against the Geneva Greens at Royals Ballpark. The right-handed Barrios gave up no runs in his start, permitted 4 hits, and tallied 9 strikeouts. "If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Barrios said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be." To date this season, Barrios sports a 3-1 mark with a 1.92 ERA in 9 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .197 batting average and has 49 strikeouts in 56.1 innings. View Boxscore |
