5-for-5 Game for Critch Thursday, May 25th , 2079 Today at Rifles Stadium, Gary Critch put on an impressive display. The Murfreesboro Rifles second baseman tagged Paradise pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Paradise Gecko by the score of 6-4. "The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Critch said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, the Rifles manager was unwilling to offer the second baseman much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses. "Gary told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager said. Gary Critch singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mark Kubina in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
