The East Lansing Mighty Gulls starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Glendale Bruisers and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Suyama was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn labrum and stated that he would not be able to play for 4 months.
