Russell Strokes 5 Hits Monday, May 8th , 2079 It was a sensational day at the plate for Brandon Russell as he led the charge to a nifty 15-12 win over the Blackbirds. The Hoxie second baseman was pure misery for the Shreveport pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Russell put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said , manager for the Blackbirds, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Brandon Russell singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Tuck in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
