Orchard Belts 3 HR for Metalheads Monday, August 3rd , 2076 Tulsa Metalheads catcher Robbie Orchard sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Aurora Reds, Orchard told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Orchard pushed the Metalheads past the Reds, 11-8. To go along with the homers, he collected 8 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Orchard told reporters after the game. Robbie Orchard hit a GRAND SLAM off Jorge Aguilar in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Henry Rojas in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Dave Reza in the 9th. So far this season Orchard has hit .225 with 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 4 times. |
