Dave Roman Nabs Best Player Trophy
Tuesday, September 12th , 2079
He may have less experience than most of his RSL Double A peers, but that didn't slow Dave Roman down at all in 2079.
At the age of 24, the Binghamton shortstop has been named the winner of the Alpha Conference Outstanding Hitter Award.
He had a .303 batting average and a .406 on-base percentage this year. In 109 games he piled up 132 hits, 26 doubles, 4 triples, 21 home runs, 71 RBIs and 79 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Perry Sparks of the Binghamton Blues finished second in voting, while Jorge Hechavarria of the Nevada Seafarers finished third.
