Mendiola Fires 1-0 Shutout for Rockford Saturday, August 12th , 2079 In an excellent mound performance, Axel Mendiola of the Rockford Bulldogs blanked the Anchorage Longbows, 1-0, on a 4-hitter. "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches," he said after the game. In all, the Rockford hurler rang up 5 strikeouts and no walks in the shutout win. "We just didn't swing the bats well today," said Longbows manager . "Mendiola did a good job keeping us guessing."
