Season Ends for Hajime Murakami of Reno
Sunday, July 3rd , 2078
The doctors have spoken and Hajime Murakami of the Reno Mountaineers didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Murakami sustained his season-ending injury during the Marfa Lights game yesterday at Mountaineers Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Reno medical staff reported Murakami had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11 months.
This season, Murakami has worked 49 innings with 51 strikeouts en route to a 2-4 record and a 4.59 ERA.
