Season-Ending Injury for James Wagner Tuesday, June 4th , 2080 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now James Wagner of the Commodores knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Marfa Lights while throwing a pitch. Because of a torn ulnar collateral ligament, the Worcester starting pitcher is expected to miss 13 months. Wagner was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." Wagner has made 11 starts so far this year and put up a 2-2 won-lost record with a 4.25 ERA. In 53 innings he has allowed 44 hits, walked 34 and struck out 43. |
