Opila on a Tear, Hits for Cycle
Wednesday, May 1st , 2080
Requiring speed, power, and regular contact, the cycle is often seen as a test of a complete hitter. For Kyle Opila, consider that test passed.
The 21-year-old center fielder hit for the cycle at Terrors Ballpark, to help the Henderson Terrors triumph, 12-2, over the Sudbury Astronauts. All told, Opila delivered 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 4 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.
"It feels good of course, but I'm not going to kid anyone -- there's a lot of luck in hitting for the cycle," he said after the game. "Several unique things have to come together all in the same game."
Kyle Opila singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Billy Grotheer in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Batting .358 to date, Opila has 3 home runs and 10 RBIs.
