Saint Paul Starter July's Best Pitcher Tuesday, August 1st , 2079 The Beta Conference hitters didn't have a chance in July when the Saint Paul Saints manager wrote "Valentino" on the lineup card. Outing after outing, Joe Valentino held teams in check and usually got a win. He excelled with a 4-0 mark and 2.40 ERA in 6 starts. The talented Saints star pitched 41.1 innings, fanned 46 and held opposing teams to a .204 average. For his superb mound work Valentino was named the BC Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers. This year, Valentino has compiled a 5-2 record with a 2.42 ERA. |
