Salton City's Paul Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Sunday, July 4th , 2083
Today at Naturals Stadium, Julian Paul put on an impressive display.
The Salton City Naturals center fielder tagged Scottsdale pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Scottsdale Crawdads by the score of 9-8.
"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Paul said. "5-for-6 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, the Naturals manager was unwilling to offer the center fielder much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.
"Julian told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager said.
Julian Paul singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tim Handrahan in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year, Paul is hitting .260 with 6 home runs and 22 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .295 clip and scored 22 runs.
