3-HR Dream Game for Veloz Sunday, July 4th , 2083 Fans at Ballpark of Mascot got an impromptu firework display courtesy of Tampico Bucaneros left fielder Danny Veloz. He belted a trifecta of home runs to power his club to victory, 31-7, over the Pawtucket Patriots. In the win, Veloz stunned the Patriots pitching staff for 3 hits in 5 at-bats and knocked in 4 runs. "It was the best kind of day," Veloz said after the game. "I hardly had to work for it. Hitting today was a piece of cake, with lots of extra icing on it." Danny Veloz walked in the 1st, struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dustin Lundgren in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Dustin Lundgren in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Tadashiro Kojima in the 9th. For the season, Veloz has produced 50 hits in 193 at-bats for a .259 average with 11 home runs and gotten on base at a .359 clip. |
