Olmedo Belts 3 HRs
Thursday, June 17th , 2083
Edmonton Trappers third baseman David Olmedo had a magnificent game against the Sudbury Astronauts, rocketing three balls out of Sudbury Grounds to help the Trappers win, 14-5.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Olmedo went 3-for-5 with 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Edmonton manager said later. "Seems like David found his home run stroke today."
David Olmedo hit a solo-shot off Roy Hackett in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Ismael Vasquez in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Josh McSwain in the 8th.
Currently Olmedo has 12 home runs and a .297 batting average.
