Flores Hits 3 Homers Wednesday, May 10th , 2079 Oceanside Barnstormers left fielder Willie Flores put on a dazzling display of power at Barnstormers Ballpark against the Nevada Seafarers. In the 10-3 Barnstormers victory, Flores penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Nevada manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 20-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Flores said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Willie Flores flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Oscar Santiago in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ricky Navejar in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Andy Eckert in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. So far this season, Flores is hitting .213 with 14 home runs, 28 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 23 hits in 108 at-bats and a .277 OBP. |
