McLaughlin Belts 5 Hits Thursday, April 27th , 2079 It was a good day for the Naturals at Crawdads Ballpark as they clipped the Scottsdale Crawdads, 14-3. It was tremendous day for Cody McLaughlin, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-6. "I don't know what to call that," the Salton City right fielder told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well." Cody McLaughlin doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ti-an Shu in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Luis Martinez in the 7th, walked in the 8th and doubled in the 9th. So far this season, McLaughlin is hitting .368 with 8 home runs, 19 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 76 at-bats and a .415 OBP. View Boxscore |
