Beta Conference Names #1 Player Tuesday, September 24th , 2080 It's been a year of triumph for veteran Joe Echols of the Calgary Cannons as he hit his way to the 2080 Beta Conference Outstanding Hitter Award. The 32-year-old veteran compiled a .264 average and .414 on-base percentage by putting together 99 hits, 19 doubles, no triples, 32 home runs and 94 walks. He also scored 83 times and drove in 78 runs. He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 30. John Binder of the San Antonio Texicans finished second in voting with 15 first place votes, while Jon Harris of the Garland Pigeons finished third with 1 first place vote.
