Victor Marquez Injured, Out for Year
Monday, August 26th , 2080
Huntington Beach starting pitcher Victor Marquez could miss the remainder of the season because of bone chips in his elbow. He exited yesterday's San Antonio game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Marquez would be out 5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
On the year, Marquez has worked 145.2 innings with 150 strikeouts en route to a 11-4 record and 4.02 ERA.
