Garland's Santiago Out 13 Months
Monday, August 1st , 2078
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Jose Santiago of the Pigeons knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Santa Ana Broncs while throwing a pitch. Because of a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament, the Garland reliever is expected to miss 13 months. Santiago was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
Currently Santiago has 1 relief appearance, saving 0. His record is 0-2 with 10 strikeouts in 17 innings and a 4.24 ERA.
