Siems Gets Award for Relief Work

Jesse Siems appears headed for a big payday.

The impending free agent turned in a dominant season with the Garland Pigeons in 2079 and has won the Beta Conference Reliever of the Year Award.

With his contract situation unclear for next season, it appears his dominant performance will have him poised to command big money.

For the year, the 33-year-old native of Glace Bay, Canada put up a 0.68 ERA, over 39.2 innings of work. He made 34 relief appearances and had 22 saves, 39 strikeouts, 17 walks and a record of 2-1.

He received 13 first place votes out of a possible 30. Trent Roberts of the Jersey City Sea Serpents finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Ryan Ashe of the Hamilton Argonauts finished third with 6 first place votes.
