No Playoff Berth Coming for Akron Friday, August 11th , 2079 The Akron Pickets have a new opponent: mathematics. The Pickets still have games to play in their disappointing 2079 campaign, but the numbers say they won't mean much -- the Pickets were today mathematically eliminated from qualifying for the postseason. This is the club's 34th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2045. In total, the Pickets have missed the playoffs 83 times in their 90-year history. Akron last won the League Championship in 2045. |
