Fitzpatrick 5-for-6 for Riversharks Wednesday, July 1st , 2076 After a 5-hit effort to lead Wichita's 16-3 victory over the Quahog Players, first baseman Lesley Fitzpatrick told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the RSL Triple A-level is really something special." The 23-year-old player earned his accolades today at Ballpark of Genoa with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Players. "His swing is getting there," said Riversharks skipper , who spoke glowingly of Fitzpatrick after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Lesley did that to perfection today." Lesley Fitzpatrick hit a solo-shot off Naoya Yoshimoto in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Seth Klose in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Armando Servantez in the 9th. So far this season Fitzpatrick has put up a .295 batting average with 77 hits, 13 home runs and 40 RBIs. View Boxscore |
