3-HR Binge for Carrillo Against Norfolk
Thursday, June 30th , 2078
Joliet third baseman Juan Carrillo saw a fantastic day go to waste at Norfolk Grounds as the Blues lost, 10-9, despite a trio of home runs from the youngster.
"It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected Carrillo said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win."
The 22-year-old tallied three homers in a 3-for-4 day, and added 3 RBIs and 3 scored.
"That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said Norfolk manager . "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win."
Juan Carrillo hit a solo-shot off Jeans Rabasa in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jeans Rabasa in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Chris Lambert in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
At the moment, Carrillo is hitting .294 with 20 home runs and 47 RBIs. He has played in 75 games and scored 38 times.
