Boomers Gaghiardi Smacks 5 Hits Wednesday, June 24th , 2076 Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day, so it was a special occasion for Boomers's Gerald Gaghiardi at Rams Ballpark today. Gaghiardi put up a 5-for-6 line against the Chesapeake Rams, swinging the bat with authority all day despite his club's eventual 11-9 loss. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Gaghiardi said after the game. "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but it's disappointing to lose." Disappointed or not, he still gets his name in the record books. Gerald Gaghiardi hit a three-run home run off T.J. Reeves in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off T.J. Reeves in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Forrest McBean in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and singled in the 11th. This year Gaghiardi is hitting at a .279 pace with 11 home runs and 50 RBIs. He has played in 69 games and scored 42 times. View Boxscore |
