Trevino Jacks 3 into the Stands Wednesday, June 3rd , 2076 Rochester Reds first baseman Bill Trevino put on a dazzling display of power today at Sumos Ballpark against the Hicksville Sumos. In the 8-4 Reds victory Trevino penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Hicksville manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 26-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Trevino said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Bill Trevino hit a solo-shot off Yuan Huang in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. Trevino is batting at a .233 pace this season, picking up 21 hits in 90 at-bats with 9 home runs, 19 RBIs and 16 runs scored. |
