Pickering Goes Deep 3 Times Friday, May 20th , 2078 Eric Pickering went on an explosive hitting spree against the Akron Pickets at Ballpark of Akron, launching a trio of blasts to help the Arlington Mallards win, 15-1. The second baseman finished 5-for-5 with 5 runs scored and 6 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Pickering said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Akron skipper said Pickering was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Eric Pickering doubled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Danny Bickel in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Alex Amezquita in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Henny Jongenelen in the 9th. At present, Pickering is batting .337 and has collected 5 home runs, 23 RBIs, .402 OBP and scored 13 runs. |
