Borrero Hittin' on All Cylinders
Tuesday, May 7th , 2080
Getting 4 hits in a game is no easy feat, but doing it to hit for the cycle is even more rare.
Osbiel Borrero of the Santa Ana Broncs pulled it off at Ballpark of Arlington, going 4-for-4 against the Arlington Mallards. His batting escapades sparked the Broncs to a win, 9-4.
Borrero tallied 3 runs and drove in 3 during the game. Hitting for the cycle is particularly rare because of the different skills required - enough power for a home run, enough speed for a triple and enough patience at the plate to see at least four hittable balls.
"It just happened," Borrero said to reporters after the win. "Must have been fate or something, I wasn't expecting it. Heck, I wasn't even really trying for it."
Osbiel Borrero tripled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off David Gonzales in the 4th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
This year, Borrero has hit at a .344 clip with 5 RBIs, 1 home run and 13 runs scored.
