Pineda Raps Joliet for 5 Hits
Thursday, July 29th , 2083
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Victor Pineda -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of Genoa and paced the 8-5 Players win over the Joliet Blues.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Quahog first baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Victor Pineda hit an RBI triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tim Reeves in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Currently Pineda is batting .311 with 90 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 27 runs and scored 25 times.
