Hialeah Befuddled by Myers in 1-0 Loss
Wednesday, August 2nd , 2079
The Chesapeake Rams did little to support starter Bobby Myers against the Hialeah Boomers, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Boomers, striking out 2 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Myers allowed Chesapeake to escape with the 1-0 win, despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said, 'Bobby, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Myers told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
Myers has a 4-10 season record so far. In 19 starts, he has fanned 59 batters in 118.1 innings with a 5.02 ERA.
