Sanchez Hitless, Streak Ends at 26 Saturday, July 10th , 2083 The hitting streak that Akron second baseman Ernesto Sanchez had kept going for 26 games was ended by the Oxnard Tigercats. Sanchez was stymied over 2 at-bats, but the rest of his team picked him up, getting the 3-2 victory at Ballpark of Akron. "Hitting streaks come and go," Sanchez said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." This year, Sanchez has 4 home runs and a .306 batting average. |
