Venzor Swats 3 HR Against San Bernadino Wednesday, June 30th , 2083 Calgary Cannons third baseman Manny Venzor sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the San Bernadino Sun Devils, Venzor told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Venzor pushed the Cannons past the Sun Devils, 14-8. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Venzor told reporters after the game. Manny Venzor hit a solo-shot off Eddie Jaramillo in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Eddie Jaramillo in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Salvador Fuentes in the 8th. Venzor is currently batting .272 with 4 home runs and 25 RBIs. |
