Reds Bran Booms 3 HRs Friday, June 25th , 2083 It was a good day for the Rochester Reds and an exceptional one for Alex Bran. The 21-year-old third baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Reds beat the Joliet Blues, 10-1, at Blues Stadium. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Bran said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 4 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats. Alex Bran struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Yolber Ajete in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Wei-quo Lu in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Yasuharu Hirakawa in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. Bran is hitting .462 this year with 4 home runs, 9 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 12 hits in 26 at-bats, 3 walks and a .533 on-base percentage. Bran has played in 9 games. |
