Manthei Blasts 3 into Bleachers Monday, June 5th , 2079 Alan Manthei brutalized the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 9-8 San Antonio victory at Chuckers Park. The San Antonio Texicans center fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-7 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Alan Manthei today," Chinooks manager said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Alan Manthei hit a two-run home run off Mario Gatica in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off David Munoz in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, struck out in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off Juan Osorio in the 13th. For the year, Manthei has hit .255 with 7 home runs, 25 RBIs and scored 20 runs. |
