Tuesday, May 2nd , 2079
The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Mario Ortega did at Ballpark of Akron, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 9-8.
"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Ortega said. "Good things happen, when that happens."
The Akron Pickets catcher blistered the Santa Ana Broncs for 3 hits, batted in 4 runs and scored 3 times.
"It ain't like we weren't trying," Santa Ana manager said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today."
Mario Ortega hit a solo-shot off Emilio GarcĂa in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Chris Caceres in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Nelson Cuevas in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
Currently Ortega is batting .233 with 17 hits and 9 home runs. He has knocked in 11 runs and scored 14 times.
