Uchida Socks It to Charros, Cracks 5 Hits
Tuesday, April 25th , 2079
Hitoshi Uchida of the Thorns was unstoppable in his team's 13-6 victory over the Guadalajara Charros at Charros Ballpark. He battered them for 5 hits in 8 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Norfolk right fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-8 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."
Hitoshi Uchida singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Keiji Kouchi in the 8th, singled in the 10th, flied out in the 12th, grounded out in the 15th and hit a two-run single in the 16th.
This year, Uchida has hit at a .375 clip with 9 hits, 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
