Best AC Reliever Named Tuesday, September 21st , 2083 Alex Mendez was a calming influence out of the Hicksville Sumos bullpen this season. His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 23-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Alpha Conference Reliever of the Year Award for 2083. The San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic native won the award with 12 saves in 52 relief appearances, 83 strikeouts in 79.1 innings and a record of 4-5 to go with his 2.84 ERA. He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 30. Alex Hernandez of the Riverside Spinners finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Arthur Pugh of the Fremont Roadsters finished third.
