Tapia Goes Deep 3 Times Saturday, September 26th , 2076 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Rodolfo Tapia can celebrate. The Havana Metropolitanos left fielder powered three into the stands at Sony Field at Philadelphia today against the Philadelphia Spectres. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Tapia told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-5 as the Metropolitanos toppled Philadelphia by a score of 10-2, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Havana manager Mark Sands said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Rodolfo Tapia grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Felix Talamantez in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Miklas Muller in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Karel Berends in the 8th. Currently Tapia is batting .262 with 27 home runs and 67 RBIs. |
