Billy Morf Claims 2080 WC Batting Title Monday, September 30th , 2080 Batting titles are tough to come by. It takes a lot of talent, hard work, consistency, few slumps, good health and a little luck. Billy Morf of the Phoenix Thunderbirds put it all together this year and led the Western Conference with a .354 batting average (190-for-537). The Thunderbirds left fielder played in 147 games, ending the season with 36 doubles, 12 triples, 26 home runs, 124 runs and 110 runs batted in. "When you work hard, good things happen," Morf explained to reporters after winning the coveted award. "Slumps happen to everyone, but you won't break out of one without hard work. I think that's one of the prime reasons for my success this season." |
