Keener Raps Washington for 5 Hits
Friday, September 2nd , 2078
Jimmy Keener got the glory and the headlines, but the Washington Senators left with the win. The New York center fielder easily handled the Senators pitching, going 5-for-6, but his New York Titans came out on the short end of the 12-11 score.
Keener told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win.
"Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end."
Jimmy Keener hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Les Ralph in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th, was hit by a pitch in the 11th and hit an RBI double in the 13th.
This season, Keener has hit at a .298 clip with 90 RBIs, 13 home runs and 86 runs scored.
