Brocklebank Wins EC Player of the Week Trophy Monday, September 2nd , 2080 23-year-old Lloyd Brocklebank sent shock waves through Rising Star League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Eastern Conference Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Brocklebank made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .435 average, 10 hits in 23 at-bats, 2 home runs and 6 runs batted in. Where the St. Louis Gaedels third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Brocklebank certainly made his mark last week. So far this season, Brocklebank has hit .247 with 34 home runs, 89 RBIs and scored 71 times. |
