Yerges Picked Best Player Monday, August 24th , 2076 Santiago Avispas left fielder Dave Yerges walked away with the Eastern Conference Player of the Week Award today after putting up some impressive numbers over the past seven days. "The Avispas fans are really behind me right now," said the 27-year-old. "That helps. They give you the confidence to go out there and do better." Yerges batted .455 (10-for-22) with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs this week on his way to the award. For the season Yerges is currently batting .263 with 50 home runs and 122 RBIs. In 121 games he has reached base at a .363 rate and scored 101 runs to date. |
