Philadelphia Out of Playoff Race Tuesday, September 19th , 2079 Even the most die-hard fans of the Philadelphia Spectres will likely now start focusing on next year. The team was today mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. "We're disappointed," said Spectres first baseman Alderaan Pike. "Not just for ourselves, but also for the fans that stick with us every year." Philadelphia last appeared in the postseason in 2070. This is their 9th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 63 times in their 90-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Spectres have only made the playoffs once. Philadelphia last won the League Championship in 2043. |
