Pfau Tags 3 HR Against Athletics Friday, September 8th , 2079 Rickey Pfau brutalized the Kansas City Athletics pitching staff, launching three home runs in the 7-2 Phoenix victory at Ballpark of Missouri. The Phoenix Thunderbirds first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Rickey Pfau today," Athletics manager Joe Monagle said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Rickey Pfau hit a solo-shot off Alex Hernandez in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Alex Hernandez in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Robert Kamp in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
